Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Close by is the Van Long Nature Reserve which, although on a smaller scale than Trang An and Tam Coc, offers similar landscape and experience but with 1/10th the number of people. The bedrooms are stylish in their design and the beds very comfortable. Hoang, the owner, is an excellent cook and we very much enjoyed all our meals here. The swimming pool looked lovely but the weather was not such that we were tempted in - it seems grey days are the norm for northern Vietnam in January.

Negative: The bathroom lacked any secondary lighting, which would be helpful
