Summary: The hospitality (service and meals) at Shiganoyu Hotel were amazing. While we did not speak Japanese and the staff did not speak English, they used a translation tool for conversation and didn't let that be a barrier. It was so comfortable for our family of 5 - very homey and welcoming. The tea and treat upon check-in was a nice surprise and delicious. The onsen was a relaxing bonus! And the food was amazing and a wonderful experience. We had 3 breakfasts and 3 dinners and they were all different experiences! I would highly recommend this more traditional ryoken experience. The hotel is a little dated but clean. For us, it just added to the charm of this sweet hotel.
